The End. (or is it the beginning?)
My amazing husband took his last final, in his last class, in his last term of college today.
Earning this degree has been a long, difficult process. Unlike most of his classmates, he has not been free to kick back after class with his friends, join the rugby team, attend every football game, or play frisbee on the quad. He's not staying out all night with his friends and then signing up for 10 a.m. classes so he can sleep in.
My husband starts his days no later than 6:30, so he can be at work by 7 a.m. to support his family. He has worked about 30 hours per week every term he's been in school. He goes straight from work to school, then sometimes back to work again. He studies and works on his engineering design projects far into the night. What spare time he does manage to find, he's not sitting at a pub relaxing with buddies. He's being a daddy to two little girls who light up the instant he enters a room; reading to them, carrying them around on his shoulders, teaching them to play hide-and-seek.
And now, is he out celebrating this major achievement tonight? Nope. He's at a meeting at our church, fulfilling his role as deacon chairman, serving the needs of our church body.
He is a man who puts others' needs before his own, time and time again. I could not be prouder of him or more happy to be his wife.

Isn't a man like that a blessing?! We are blessed to have wonderful husbands who make the role of husband and father the top priority. And my thanks to you both for his stepping up as deacon chairman so our family could have a much-needed break.
Baby, without you, I am but half a man.
We accomplished this, side by side.
